FAQs
TYLENOL® PM contains two active ingredients, acetaminophen and diphenhydramine, to help with the temporary relief of occasional headaches and minor aches and pains with accompanying sleeplessness. Do not use with other products containing acetaminophen or diphenhydramine. Stop use and ask a doctor if sleeplessness persists continuously for more than 2 weeks. Insomnia may be a symptom of serious underlying medical illness. Always read and follow the label. If you have any questions, please talk to your doctor.
TYLENOL® PM is a pain reliever plus a sleep aid. Each caplet contains 500 mg acetaminophen and 25 mg diphenhydramine HCl. It is indicated for the temporary relief of occasional headaches and minor aches and pains with accompanying sleeplessness.
SIMPLY SLEEP® is just a sleep aid. Each caplet contains 25 mg diphenhydramine HCl. It is indicated for relief of occasional sleeplessness.
Many nighttime cold and flu products contain similar ingredients to PM pain relievers. For example, both PM pain relievers and nighttime cold medicines may contain the active ingredient acetaminophen. You should take only one acetaminophen-containing product at a time. Always read and follow the product labels before use. If you have any questions, talk to your doctor.
Acetaminophen alone is not a sedative and isn’t designed to make you drowsy. “PM” products, such as TYLENOL® PM, can cause drowsiness because they contain nighttime sleep aids like diphenhydramine that can make you sleepy.
